WAIATA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) WAIATA, July 22. Great success attended the annual dance of the Waiata Tennis Club, which was held on Monday evening. Completely transformed by artistic decorations of greenery and flowers, the hall was none too large to accommodate the gathering. I lie attendance .was a record, local patronage being very generous, while all the surrounding districts were strongly represented. Members of the club, under the leadership of the secretary (Miss D. Brtdgeman), had given very careful consideraton to all those matters which tend to make for an enjoyable dance, and the success they achieved was indeed well deserved. A number of novelty dances and competitions wore held Miss J. Redshaw and Mr R. Gore were the winners of a Monte Carlo dance, while the lucky parcel wont to Airs C. Wilson. A competition was won by Aliss J. Burr and Mr V. Gore, and an iced birthday cake, tnado and presented by Alifs R." Honeghan, was won by Airs B.ATierS. The supper nrraugomems were 'n the hands of an efficient ladies committee, Alusic for the dance was supplied by Messrs H. Wilson, J. Heneghan. and ]>', Gore. Air 11. Wilson canying 1 out the duties of Af.O.
