FEARS OF ATTACK. BRITISH WARSHIPS HANDY. EXODUS TO HONG KONG. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) Received July 16, 11.15 a.m. HONG KONG, July 15. Intensifying the fears of an aerial attack, three Nanking ’planes flew over Canton, dropping leaflets urging the population to obey the Central Government’s order abolishing the Southern Government. British . naval authorities are watching the position closely in view of the danger to foreigners if Canton were bombed.
Warships are ready to help an evacuation if necessary.
Already there has been a great exodus from Canton to Hong Kong, norugees from the interior are pouring into Canton.
General Yu-Han-mow continues to advance southward. The troops are reported to have crossed . the border. There is feverish activity in Canton military quarters.
