BRITISH MUSIC SOCIETY.
FEILDING BRANCH. The monthly meeting of the Foilding branch of the British Music Society was held on Tuesday evening at the home of Mr and Mrs J. Gordon Elliot, “The Hill,” when a varied programme was appreciated. The singing in unison of selected songs, “Summer is Here,” and two Hebridean songs, and a musical competition proved very interesting. The programme was as follows: — Pianoforte solos, second and third movements of the Sonata in E. Minor (Grieg), Miss M. Armour; vocal solos, “The Little Green Lane” and “Sitting at Home by the Fire” (Mary Brahe), Miss H. Wilson; flute solos, Allegretto from Suite (Godard) and “Cavatina” (Clinton), Mr M. Wilson; pianoforte duet, second movement, fifth symphony (Beethoven), and “Dark Eyes” (Russian gipsy air), Misses G. Humphreys and F. Gray; violin solos, “Ave Maria” (Schubert) and “Minuet” (Paderewski), Mrs M. Wotton; vocal solos, “0 Summer Night” (Goring-Thomas) and “Summer Rain” (Charles Willoughby). Miss K. Blanchette. At the conclusion of the programme supper was served, after which Miss L. Spence moved a vote of thanks to Mr and Mrs Elliot for the uso of their home, which was carried with acclamation.

Apologies for absence were received from Miss K. Green, Mr and Mrs It. A. Levy, Mr A. B. Farmer and Mr J. Pearce.
