PLAYERS FOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

The New South Wales Lawn Tennis Association to-night reluctantly refused permission to A. Huxley and J. Bromwich, the tennis players, to take part in the New Zealand championships in January, as they are required to take part that month in the Australian championships.

AJr Wallis Myers, in the Daily Telegraph, says: I understand that tlieie is some doubt as to whether Henkel will be available against tho Australians in tho Davis Cup contest. He caught a severe chill on the way to London from Zagreb and lias been confined to his bed since arrival. Crarorn has completely recovered from Ins strain. In view of Henkel’s indisposition, and in order to give the Germans as long as possible before nominating the team, the Australians are understood to have agreed to postpone the draw until Thursday.
