BRISK COMPETITION. BETTER TONE DEVELOPS. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report London wool sales continue; brisk competition, hardening tendency. As coinpared with closing rates last series, good greasy Merino and good scoured Merino, unchanged: medium greasy Merino, 5 per cent, lower; inferior greasy Merino, 5- per cent, loner; medium scoured Merino, 5 per cent, lower; inferior scoured Merino 5 per cent, lower; fine greasy crossbred, 5 per cent, lower; medium and coarse, unchanged to rather dearer. Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their London agents, dated July 13:—Tho auctions continue fairly animated and the market has developed a better tone since the opening. Greasy crossbreds are quoted id to jd per lb dearer, especially when houglit for Russia. Slipe wools generally are in large supply and are easier since the opening.
