A surprise party, arranged by Air and Aire Alorgan, was taken to the home of Air and Aire W. Johnston, Campbell’s Road, last Friday night, to bid them farewell on the eve of their departure for Ihakara, where in future they will reside. A pleasant time was spent in dancing, community singing and games. Among those present were: Air and Airs Johnston, Air and Airs Alorgan, Air and Airs Simpson, Mr and Aire V. Claridge, Mr and Aire Norman, Air and Airs J. Alabcy, Mr and Airs Alve, Air and Mrs H. AJicre, Air and Airs Bell, Misses K., AI., and J. Johnston, j\i. and N. Alve, B. Aiiers, Daly, Alessrs Knyvctt (Waikato). AI. Tantrum, Schwass (T’okomaru), W. Young, C. Young, M. Aiiers, C. Alve and A. McPherson. There was one apology for absence at the. usual monthly meeting of the School Committee, that of Air Henderson, who is at present in hospital. Correspondence regarding the calf competitions of the Horowhenua Boys’ and Girls’ Calf Club was dealt with, among other business. Mir-a Y. Hocking is at present on holiday at Napier. Mr and Aba R. L. Horne left for a holiday visit to Levin and Wellington last week. Alias B. Jackson spent the week-end with her parents, Air and Airs W. Jackson. Aliss Matthews spent .the week-end in Wamranui.
