PAHIATUA, July 15
At the fortnightly meeting of Loyal Mangatainoka Lodge, M.U., 1.0.0. F., held last evening, Bro. I. Algie, N.G., presided. Accounts totalling £l3 5s were passed for payment. The district secretary advised that' the management committee had accepted July 27 as the date for the official visit of the district officers. Tho ritual competition with Loyal Eketahuna Lodge will take place that night. A report was received on the recent card challenge match played against the Fire Brigade. Following the lodge meeting, cards and games were enjoyed. Keen interest is being taken in the newly formed Pahiatua Radio Club and at tho last meeting of its members an interesting lecturetto was given by Mr C. Parker, ZL2IX, the subject being “Aerials from the Technical Viewpoint.” A general discussion ensued. It was decided that a portable receiver and transmitter be constructed and l>e vised for practical demonstrations for basic circuits and also be held in readiness for emergencies should they arise. Results of senior games played in the Bush basketball competition on Monday evening are as follow:—Athletic beat Rovers, 15—12; Konini beat Waratahs, 12—8.
