WELLINGTON STOCK EXCHANGE.

YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS AND PRICES. Business opened quietly on the Wellington Stock Exchange yesterday, quotations showing little or no change on the closing rates of last week. There was a strong demand for Government loans at steady prices, but supplies were not plentiful. The 4 per cent, stocks, 1943-46, and 1946-49 had dealings at £lO5. Bank shares were dull and unchanged. Goldsbrough Mort were a shade easier at 30s lOd, sellers holding for 31s 6(1. Queensland Insurance were quoted. 3d up at 59s 9d, without drawing sellers. Industrial and trading issues were generally steady at late rates. G. J. Coles, however, were easier on business at 81s; buyers stayed in at 795, sellers asking 80s 9d. YESTERDAY’S QUOTATIONS.
