(From Our Own Correspondent.) STANWAY, July 11. Stnuway East Cribbage Club, by' defeating- Cheltenham in the last weekly tcu •lament, have taken the lead on points m the country clubs competition. The Stan way School Committee met on Thursday evening-. Mr E. Christian presiding. Also present were Messrs J. Macmillan, J. Mactarlanc and F. Cowdrey (secretary), Mr Watherstoii sending a note ot apology for non-attendcnce. It was, decided "to purchase i-ton of coal and 1 ton of coke. Mr I.ect (headmaster) reported that the cocoa ad sugar supply for the children was becoming short, and the secretary was authorised to get a ficsh Messrs N. Marshall. T. Marshall, D. Humphries, and T. Miles have returned from a motor tour of the north. Mr ii'U Mrs T It Vile are at present on a motor tour of the North Island. The friends of Ml- and Mrs Nelson Ball will be p.eascd to hear that their little daughter is rapidly recovering from an operation.
