ARBITRATION COURT.
THE FURNITURE INDUSTRY. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 13. Claiming that there was a shortage uf skil'cd tradesmen in the furniture industry and that work could not he carried on efficiently on a 40-hour week, furniture manufacturers applied m the Arbitration Court to-day for the right to work a 44-hour week, including four hours on Saturdays and periods of five hours without a break for a meal. Decision was reserved.
