PHILOSOPHY DEGREE.
FORAIER CAAIBRIDGE BOA 7 '. CAAIBRIDGE. July 13. After examinations at tlie Angejico College at Rome, Rev. Noel Gascoigne, who in 1934 was chosen from all the students of the archdiocese to proceed to Rome to study philosophy, has gained the degree of Doctor ot Philosophy. He is a son of Mrs Al. E. Gascoigne, and the late Air Gascoigne of Cambridge, and is only 2 o years of age. He intends to spend the coming year in England, studying English educational systems in colleges and universities. Dr. Gascoigne was educated at the Cambridge Primary School and the Cambridge and Hamilton High Schools. He had the distinction of o-aining the highest marks in Ne\\ Zealand for the senior national scholarship. He was awarded a Lniversity Entrance Scholarship, and attended the Auckland University.
