PAIIIATUA, July 11. In the final match lor the junior Rugby championship, tnu riuknmii team r.o-uay beat. Ngaturi by 3 points to 3, At halftime no points had boon registered, but llowat (Ngaturi) opened the scoring with a try early in the second spell. Vernon’s kick at goal failed. Wilson equalised and Udy adued the extra points. A little, later B. Udy added another try, which was not converted. D. Udy (Hukanui) and llwcott (Ngaturi) received injuries which necessitated their retirement from p.av. A social was held in conjunction with the usual weekly games of the Mayfair Ping Pong Club last evening, the oiijict being to extend a iurewell to Mr A. King, the club captain. Miss Brown won the women’s section and Mrs W. Shilton was awarded a special prize donated bv Mrs Buckman. My. .J. Mabey won the‘men's section. Mr F. Cosford presented the trophies and also a leather toilet sot. to Mr King, lie referred to Mr King’s splendid work in organising the club, and paid a tribute to the zeal in which he had discharged his duties as club captain. Music for dancing was provided by an orchestra, and Miss L. White played several extrhs’ Mr N. Wilton gave popular song numbers. Mr F. Cosford was the M.U.
