OBITUARY.
Allt AV. P. HILL. The death occurred at Bunnytliorpo yesterday of Air William Perry Hill, at the ripo age of 88 years, after an illness lasting twelve months. Mr Hill was a highly respected pioneer settler of the district, having cleared his block of land from the virgin bush, helped to lornt the roads, and liu\ itig been a well-known figure in the early life of the township. Born at Helston, Cornwall, in 1318, Alt' Hill came to New Zealand m 1875, and settled for 25 years in Ashhurst, where he' married Aliss Emily Campbell. Next he settled at Bunnytliorpe, where lie retired Irom iainiing 20 years ago. . Air Hill, who was predoceasocl in 1916 by his only brother James, is survived by his widow, seven sons, five daughters, 40 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Tho daughters are Mesdames J. Harris (Sanson), W -Nicholson (Sanson), A. Mitchell (Sanson), J- Uni (Whangarei), and J Kingi (Bumiythorpe). Hie sons are Alessrs John Hill (Kopane), Wi - liam (Rangiotu), Arthur (Rongotea), James (Bunnytliorpe), George (Ivopano), Richard (Taikorea), and Algie (Bunnytliorpe). The interment took place at tlie Bunnytliorpe cemetery tins afternoon.
