AIRCRAFT BUILDING
AUSTRALIAN PLANS. SYDNEY, July 13. Wing-Commander L. J. Waekett and Squadron-Leaders •Ad \Y. Murphy and H. C. Harrison, of the Australian Air Force, returned by the Monterey after a world tour of investigation preparatory to the manufacture of aircraft in Australia under the Govern-ment-sponsored scheme. Wing-Commander Waekett declared that Australia was quite capable of building all the military aeroplanes required for her defence. Nothing during liis visit to Britain, America, and the Continent had impressed him so much as the progress made in British military aircraft. “Both in quality and quantity John Bull’s air force will be No. 1,” he declared.
