COLYTON.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) COLYTON, July 10.
The Ilall Committee met last evening to make preliminary arrangements for (lie annual district ball to bo hold in August. Several names of residents were submitted to assist the committee with the function and the Women’s Institute have signified that they will take charge of the supper arrangements. Further details will be discussed at a mooting of the full coinmil tee to be held next week. The friends of Mr Jack Williamson, jinr., will he pleased to learn that he is progressing favourably and hopes to return homo from hosiptal within a few days. Air C. Burr, of Aratika, is spending a holiday in Wellington. All's A. Love, of North Auckland, is at present visiting relatives in this district. Mr 0. Laughton, “Tho Box,” left on Alonday evening for Auckland, where he connects with the Monowai for a three weeks’ tour of the South Sea Islands. His friends (rust the trip will have beneficial results to his health. Mr J. P. Shortall accompanied Mr Laughtm as far as Auckland. Mr and Mrs F. Everest, Spur Road, are at present visitors to Auckland.
