YEOMEN OF THE GUARD.
NOW CLEAN-SHAVEN. Received Julv 11, 1.20 p.m. LONDON, July 10. Ninety out of the 100 Yeomen of the Guard have availed themselves of the King’s permission to shave. At first there was some hesitancy, but when they started the example was speedily followed. Sergeant-Major Lockyer, formerly of the Royal Dragoon Guards, said that when they appeared in mufti, their beards were often a source of annoyance. “People imagined us to be foreigners. 1 have keen taken for a French Cabinet Minister, a Russian Prince, and an Italian officer,” he said.
