FINAL DAY’S EVENTS. BILLY BOY’S STEEPLECHASE. WELLINGTON, .Tuly 12. The winter meeting of tins Wellington Racing Club was concluded on Saturday in fine weather, Tlio track w'as improved and the attendance very large, the totplisator turnover for the day being .£59,795 10s, as against; £45,663 on the third day last. year. The total for the meeting was £133,058 10s, a sagainst £104,288 10s, the increase being £28,770. J. Mcßae, the rider of Travelling Agent, was kicked by Rttaiorm during the preliminaries to (he race, and he was replaced by J. Fergus. Tlio latter was cautioned for coming in too quickly on Black Marlin five furlongs from home. There woro uvo casualties to jockeys in jumping races. C. Thomson, rider of Forest Glow fn the July Steeplechase, who came down at the first fence, received injuries to his face and shock. J. McRae. who weighed out on Travelling Agent for the Winter Hurdles, was kicked by Kuaform when going down for the preliminaries of the race, and had his right leg fractured.
