(From Our Own Correspondent.) EKETAIIUNA, July 10. The engagement is announced of Ivy May, only daughter of Mr and the late Mrs A. 11. Conner, of Wellington, to Keith Davis, only son of Mrs and the lalo Mr S. Marenzi, of Bridge Street, Eketaluuia. / At the recent meeting of the Rahiatua branch of tlie N.Z.E.1., held at the Ekotaliuna District High School, representatives were present from the Pahiat.ua District High School, Konini, Tirauinea, Ngaturi, Alfred ton, Makomako, Mangamutu and Kaiparoro. The purpose of the meeting, announced Mr Kennedy, tlie president, was to present a report on the annual meeting held in Wellington during May. Miss H. Ross (Konini), delegate to the annual meeting, gave an interesting report on the business transacted. On Ihe motion of Mr Kennedy, a voteof thanks was accorded Miss Ross. Mrs Johnston presided over the morning tea arrangements. At the annual meeting of the Eketaliuna Dental Clinic Committee, delegates were present from all the surrounding districts. Mr A. Donald, district Education Board member, also was present. A letter was received from Mr White, headmaster of tlie Alfrcdton School, drawing attention to the difficulty of getting children to the Kketalutna clinic to keep appointments with the nurse owing to unsatisfactory transport arrangements. A reprcoiitatcive from the Alfrcdton School waited on the committee with a petition signed by tli parents of tlie children attending the school, and from the School Committee, asking that tlie children from that district bo treated at Alfrcdton instead of Eketaliuna. After a discussion the request was unanimously supported. Attention was drawn to the fact that the clinic building' required assistance for maintenance. At a meeting of the executive, Mr FI. E. Grcathoad was elected chairman, and Mr Falkner secretary. A vote of thanks was accorded Mr \V.” N. Richardson for his honorary services as auditor.
