FUNERAL SERVICE
LEVEL CROSSING VICTIMS. The funeral of the late Mr and Mrs Robert Currie, of Bunnythorpe, who. were killed in the level crossing accident on Thursday afternoon, took place at Bunnythorpe yesterday in the presence of one of tiie 'largest gatherings of mourners ever seen in the township. The pretty little burial ground was crowded with people who desired to pay their last respects to a couple who ! had been held in the highest esteem by all who had known them. There was a short service at the Methodist Church, which was unable to hold all who sought to gain admittance. The overflow followed the proceedings from outside the front entrance. the sounds of the hymns and prayers being carried through the wooden walls. | The cortege from the church to the j graveside was a lengthy one, and numerous floral tributes, were placed on tlm graveside. i Rev. C. A. Foston. assisted by Rev. : R. E. Fordyce. conducted, the services. The pall-hearers were Messrs T. Currie and E. Currie (nephews). A. Stewart (grandsonh A. Lassen. J. AY. C'.evely. W. B. Duthie. S. Mntlieson, J. Scheidt, A. S. Aldrich. AV. Eggleton, G. Hanson and R. C. Donald. Messrs J. C. Young. P. Carville. and AV. R. Tavlor were the representatives of St.. Andrew’s Church, Palmerston North. 1
