BOARD OF DIRECTORS. The board of directors of the Palmerston North Y.W.C.A. held . their monthly meeting on Friday in the Kangitikei Street elubrooms. There were present : Mcsdames G. G. Priest, E. C. Barnett, Phillips, C. Small, Jamieson, Sinclair, Evans, Uuintorth, Misses Forrest, 0 rigor'and 11 indie. The report of the month s activities was read and adopted. This included details of the programmes the senior and junior members were enjoyii. 6 . The Lyceum Club were entering a one-act play in the drama festival, the title being “The Vision at the Inn.” It was reported that the social committee had held another verv successful dance and had plans in hand lor a special gay evening in August to mark the occasion of. tlie opening of the new rooms. A vote of appreciation was passed to Miss G. Scott for her splendid work during the absence of the general secretary. The Girl Citizens’ work was reported on, also the fact that throe Girl Citizens had been chosen for the B grade representative basketball match. A verv successful “Christopher Robin, ‘ friends and relations party” was held last week creating much fun and showing Miss D. Judd to be a girl of splendid organising ability. Details of the Show stall were given and votes of appreciation to the conveners, Mrs Evans, and Airs Jamieson, wore passed. A new subscriber for July is Mrs J. D. Crooks. It was reported that the alterations being made to the Manavatu Buildin'/ were nearing completion and included a large assembly room, a lounge, two smaller elubrooms, office, kitchen and cloakroom. These more spacious rooms will greatly facilitate the work of the organisation and will be pleasing to those other organisations who rent the rooms. It was decided to hold an “At home” in the rooms at Die end of the month. A sub-com-mittee to deal with this function was appointed. The annual meeting will be held in August, and a sub-committee consisting of Mesdames, Priest Barnett and Phillips was formed to complete details for this gathering Nominations were received to fill vacancies on the board of directors, Mesdames ITadfield, T timer and I 1 - guson having resigned from tins office.
