LITTLE THEATRE SOCIETY.
MONTHLY HEADING. The Palmerston North Little Theatre .Society presented a reading of “The Ship” (S. T. John Irvine) at its monthly meeting on "Wednesday night. The Y.W.C.A. rooms were crowded with an appreciative audience. The play, which is a tragedy-drama, was lead with a sympathetic appreciation of its qualities, and the performance reflected much credit on the producer, Mr I>. C. Pryor, and the players. The cast was as follows: —Old Mrs Thurlow. Mrs C. Turnbull: John. Thurlow (her son). -Air J. Garde Grimsliaw; Janet (his wife), Al&s E. Ashbv- Jack (son). Mr E. Whitehead; Hester (daughter). Miss G. Taylor; Captain Cornelius, Air A. E. H. Joblin ; George Norwood. Air C. Turnbull: maid, Airs S. T. Bristow. ■ Announcements were made prior to the reading by Air H. G. Bagnall (president). The. next reading will l>e held in the new Y.W.C.A. rooms, where there will Ivs more accommodation. Alenfbers and friends are anticipating a night of oneact p'ays to be held at All Saints’ Hall shortly.
