dominion council. MANAWATU REMIT ENDORSED. WELLINGTON July 2. Decisions affecting the conduct of the New Zealand bowling tournament, which next summer will be held m Wellington, were made at the annual meeting of the council of the Now Zealand Bowling Association in Wellington yesterday. A remit from the Manawatu Centre, that the rule of tournament play thatj players must be bona fide members of an affiliated club must be more strictly enforced, was adopted. It was decided to delete from the duties of markers the signalling of the state of the heads. The Auckland Centre applied through Mr A. E. Whitten for permission to hold a North Island tournament in 1940 to celebrate the centennial, but other members contended that the council had not power to bind future councils in the allotment of tournaments, and a motion by Mr Whitten was defeated. The 1940 Dominion tournament will be held in Christchurch. Mr L. Mc-Nab was elected secretary, and Mr E. A. Liddle auditor. The Wellington members of the council were elected the executive, and the tournament committee is to be the executive with, such other members as they may appoint. Revision of the constitution oi the association, and the laws of the game, was referred to the executive, which was directed to seek the opinions of centres. , it was resolved that the levy be the same as in previous years, Gd a player, reducible to 41d if paid before December 1.
