BUNDABERG TRAIN CRIME. BRISBANE, J me 26. Herbert Kopit, charge.! with the murder of Har )U; Pu* ring in tho Bundaberg mail train on Ap-d 2. was found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment. The defence was that Kopit was insane at the time of the crime. " Detectives elicßsJ that Kopit •> real name was Colbrjt. A statement was tendered by accused’s counsel that Kopit’s mother, aged 46, had been an inmate of a mental institution at Sydney last year. Her condition was described as organic dementia, t During the trial to-day a Government medical officer, Dr Gavin Cameron, gave evidence that he could find no symptoms that indicated the presence of instanity in Kopit.
