SOUTHLAND RESOLUTION. Per Press Association. TNVERCAROTLL. June 26. Appreciative references to the work of Mr W. J. Poison. M.P., for 16 years Dominion president of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, were made at a meeting of the Southland provincial executive this morning. In view of Mr Poison’s expressed wish to retire shortly from the presidency, the following motion was carried: —“That this executive places on record its great appreciation of the past services of Mr Poison as Dominion president of our organisation, and hopes that his sendees as an executive member will be retained.”
