Aliss Muriel Sim, of Palmerston North, is visiting her aunt, Mrs Lewis Griffiths, of Christchurch.

Trilby King, who has been visiting New Zealand for four months, returns to Aust'alia shortly. Miss King has been collecting material for a biography of her father. Mins E. Rowse, who has been spending a. holiday in Rangiora as the guest of Mrs W. A. Rowse, has returned to Pahiatua. A marble bust of the late Nurse Maude, founder of the Christchurch District Nursing Association, has been placed in the association's rooms in memory of her outstanding service. An official bulletin states that Princess Arthur of Connaught, who underwent a serious operation in a London nursing home nine years ago, has made good progress. Complete recovery is anticipated, though convalescence must bo long. The Princess, who is aged 45. is a cousin of King Edward. It was announced at the annual meeting ot the Palmerston North branch of the Plunket kSociety. yesterday afternoon, hv Miss M. Truby King, that Miss N. Fitzgihbon, nursing adviser for the New Zealand Central Council, will shortly visit Canada to attend an exhibition at Toronto, as a New Zealand representative of the Plunket Society, and will later proceed to England. The invitation was received from the New Zealand Trade and Tourist Commissioner in Canada, through the Department of Health. The New Zealand Council lias selected Miss Kea ns. Plunket nurse at Palmerston North, to cnrrv on the routine nuking offiee work at, Dunedin during Miss Fitzgibbon’s absence.

Miss K. Miller, for 17 years assistantsecretary of the Dannevirke A. and P. Association, and for four years secretary of the North Island A. and P. Association secretaries’ conference, received two presentations, at the meeting of that organisation last evening, in view of her approaching marriage. Mr Jos. Batchelar presented Miss Miller with a silver cake dish on behalf of the Alanawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association, and Mr R. H. Williams (Master!on) asked her to accept a case of spoons horn the A. and P. Association secretaries’ conference. Both made reference to the excellence of Miss Miller's services. Similarly, eulogistic comment was made by Messrs H. E. K’ssling (secretary-organiser of the Manawatu and AYest Coast A. and P. Association). J. M. James (Masterton), W. Howard Booth (Carterton), J. A. Walsh (Pahiatua). R. R- Johnson (Woodville), W. F. Ross (Stratford) and H. S. M. Quigley (Dannevirke).
