WINTER SHOW

THE SECOND DAY. V —__ INTEREST IN EXHIBITION. SHEEP DOG TRIALS. Eor the second day of the National Dairy Show the principal outdoor attraction was the sheep dog trials.-With all the judging completed, prize-win-ning exhibits were ticketed, and close interest was taken in botli the competitive classes and the industrial displays, which cover an exceedingly wide range. The weather was showery and unsettled.

The attendance yesterday totalled 9134, consisting of 4544 cash admissions and 4590 ticket admissions. The cash takings were £284 4s, compared with £440 18s lor the corresponding day of last year, though the attendance figures were practically the same. The diminished cash returns are attributable to the fact that car parking revenue is not included in this year’s figures, while there are 500 new members with admission privileges this year. The New Zealand Dairy Factory Managers’ Association conducted grading competitions this morning, and a milk testing competition was also held. To-night the City Band will give a programme of music. This will be followed by free Vaudeville sessions in which Kodama, the Japanese juggler, and the Two Colenos, trapeze artists, will appear. To-morrow’s programme is as follows: 9 a.m.—Show opens. 11 a.in.—Sale of stud Southdown sheep. .1 p.m.—Horse competitions start. 3 p.m.—Kodama and the Two Colenos (No. 5 Hall). 's.p.m.—Poultry show terminates. 8 p.m.—Kodama and the Two Colenos (No. 5 Hall). 10 p.in.—Show closes.
