DUGUID—PYKE.

When Frances Cawood, daughter of Mr C. H. Pyke, of Levin and formerly of Palmerston North, and the late Mrs Pyke, and grand-daughter of the late Hon. Vincent Pyke, of Central Otago, a former member of the Legislature, was married to William, son of the late Air and Airs W. Duguid, oi' Glasgow, she made a charming bride. Escorted by her father, Aliss Pyke entered the church wearing a gown of parchment panne velvet, the bodice of which was fashioned on empire lines. The skirt was slightly moulded to the figure and finished with a. short train. Tne veil of honiton lace (lent bv Airs Herbert Denton) was arranged becomingly with a pleaded tulle coronet and a bouquet composed of freesias, rosebuds and maidenhair fern was carried.

The wedding was solemnised last Saturday at St. Alary’s Anglican Church, which was decorated by friends. The service was fully choral, the ceremony being performed by Rev; J. C. Davies. The only bridesmaid, Aliss Lynne York, wore a frock of amber-shaded velvet, the neckline being finished with realistic chrysanthemums in the same colour and a deeper toning. A similar blending of colour was carried out in her hat, the crown of which was of pressed velvet flowers with halo brim of amber tulle. Her posy was of rosebuds, goiden chrysanthemums, freezias, autumn leaves and softly finished with tulle. Air Arthur Vizard was best man and Alessrs G. Vickers and J. Denton were the ushers. Air H. L. Jenkins presided at the organ. . The reception was held in of. Alary s Hall, Air Pyke, assisted by Airs W. G. Vickers, receiving the guests. Airs Vickers was in a handsome black oeorgette frock patterned in white, with black hat, and carried a posv of violets, ranunculas, roses and maidenhair fern. ■ „ , , The bride travelled in a frock of grey flecked with delphinium blue, the latter shade being carried out on collar and cuffs.
