Under the placement scheme introduced liy the Employment Division of the Labour Department 14 men have been placed in work in Palmerston North, nine of the positions being of a temporary nature and five of a permanent nature. The news that no new B station radio license for Wellington would he issued by the Government, so that the city would be without a B station, was conveyed last night to a meeting of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce. The potter’s wheel and its working which has been an object of interest for thousands of years, is seldom to be seen in this country, but there is one at work at the Show.
