REQUEST OF LAND.
GIFT AT LEVIN'. Further details of the bequest to the Levin Borough Council of the properties of the late Air Henry Playlord, which was reported in yesterday’s issue of the “Standard,” show that the larger section of the two (20 acres) -is in Bartholomew Road, this being the area which it is desired to develop into a motorists’ camping ground. The smaller property, of- 17 acres, is situated in Winchester Street. The liability is made up of the balance of a loan, of £l7O, and a mortgage to the Mortgage Corporation of £7lO. The property in Winchester Street is to ue administered by the Public Trustee and the revenue therefrom given to the borough for the maintenance or improvement of the camping site. When advice of the bequest came before the Levin Borough Council in a letter from the Public, the Mayor (Mr P. AY. Goldsmith) stated that there was a way whereby the land could be made into an ideal camping ground and that was by obtaining access to it from Winchester Street. The council decided to inform the Public Trustee that the gift was accepted for the purposes intended by the testator.
