AMAZONIAN REPTILES.
Fiom time to time many strange stories have reached the outside world from the depths of the Amazonian forests and South American jungles of gaily-plumaged birds, glitteringlv brilliant reptiles, and stunted races of people who speak no language, only a succession of grunts, and whose sole weapons of war are the primitive bow and arrow. But there arrived in New Zealand a few weeks ago a collection of live reptiles which include a huge alligator In capturing the alligator alive several natives were injured, and one lost his life before the monster was subdued, and it is only under special permit and a heavy bond that these monsters wore allowed to land in New Zealand for a limited period. The collection will be on show at the Winter Showin a strong wood and iron structure which will ensure safety for patrons. Look out for the big Alligator Banner in the sideshow section.
