THE CHANCELLOR’S SPEECH
ROME, June 11. Signor Ottavio Di Peppe will succeed Baron Aloisi as a member of the Foreign Ministry. Count Ciano may replace Baron Aloisi at Geneva if Italy retains her membership of the League. Italian newspapers are giving prominence to Air Neville Chamberlain’s speech, declaring it is the most severe blow yet struck by a British politician against the maintenance of sanctions. Signor Mussolini has created Marshal Badoglio Duke of Addis Ababa. LEAGUE SANCTIONS. LONDON. June 11. Believing that sanctions should he abandoned, the Duchess of Atholl has resigned from the League of Nations Union.
