(From Our Own Correspondent.) BULLS, June 12. At the monthly meeting of the Bulls Town Board there were present:—Messrs j E Walker (chairman), J. J. Mansell, F. A. Holland, C. C. Price, A. W. Amon, and C. H. Edwards. Leave of absmee was granted to Mr D. Lundy. The foreman (Mr S. Howard) reported that mud baa lien removed from Ilammond Street, and 80yds of pit metal put on. All concrete water-tables had been cleaned out; also water-sumps. Wood and posts had ben carted to the yard. Pine trees had been shifted on the domain, and 12 Hower ng gums planted at the yards. The ground behind the tennis courts had bent cleaned up and levelled. A fence at the old metal pit hatt been repaired. Paths at the cemetery had been mowed, and 14 macracarpa trees planted along the cliff. Messrs Stevens Bros, reported that, as requested, they had inspected the ttecrcatir.i Ground with a view t-o further planting, and suggesting that a few of the better class shrubs should be included. It was resolved to purchase shrubs to the value of *»«• The Department of Labour forwarded circulars relating to: (1) Scheme No. 5, hours and payment scale; (2) employment charge: (3) time lost through sickness Hid wot woather; and (4) increased rates ot pay for foremen. Collections for the month wore shown as follow: Rates, £l6 8d; rents, £l4 16s: drivers’ licenses, £6b ss; heavy traffic licenses, £7l 3s 9d; dog tax, £l3 15s; Library rents, £2 10s; Library subscriptions. 11s 6d; Dome n, £1 19s 6d; total, £157 14s 5d Accounts were passed for payment under the following headings:— District fend, ££>2 1 lOd; unemployment scheme No. 5 wages, £22 Is: Library, £4 17s 7d; Domain (poisoning rabbits), 12s 6d It was tepoi ed that the fire siroi had been found to be perished and a new siren has been installed. A'full trial will be made on Monday next. The following were appointed to act for the ensuing month as the works committee: Messrs Mansell, Price, and Anion.
