MEETING OF COUNCIL. The Massey College Council met on Thursday, Professor T. A. Hunter presiding. Also in attendance were Messrs P. Levi, T, U. \Vels, G. Giey Campbell, A. Morton, 11. 11. Stuckey, J. H. Hall, L. H. Collinson and 0. Monrad. , ... An apology for absence, owing to illness, was received lrom Mr Norton Francis, of Christchurch, and it was decided to forward him a letter wishing him.a speedy recovery. . Following reorganisation in the stair, Mr W. R. Hewitt, of Wairere, Ongame was appointed sheep farm manager’out of 60 applicants. On the recommendation of the professorial board, Andrew Clement bursaries, which arc to assist students in taking the dairy manufactures course, were awarded to Messrs A. E. Andeison (Palmerston North), E. C. Eden (Auroa, Taranaki) and E. Ji. Just (Edgcumbe, Bay of Plenty).. The bursaries are open to second and third year students. Among the donations received were the Walker and Hull Challenge Shield (for Romney judging), the Southdown Sheep Society’s Challenge Shield (tor Southdown judging), and a perpetual challenge shield lrom the New Zealand branch of the Rhode Island Red Club, donated by Lord Greenaway, tor the best team of Rhode Island Reds in the annual egg-laying contest at the college.
