PALESTINE RIOTS.
OFFICIAL WOUNDED. Received Juno 13. 9.35 a.m. JERUSALEM. June 12. Alan Sigrist, assistant police superintendent. was shot in the shoulder and taken to hospital. The incident occurred near ILord’s Gates, on the Jericho Road close l>y Gethsemane. Police and troops pursued two of the assailants with the aid of police dogs, but a tannery obliterated the scent near the Mount of Olives. Superintendent Sigrist, a former Black and Tan officer, was returning from a tour of inspection with a British constable when Arab 6, one of whom is a Government school teacher, emptied automatics into the car, which fell thirty feet into a valley as Sigrist last control of the wheel. The constable, though injured, returned the fire and wounded one assailant, who died in hospital. The other fled. A bomb hurled at a train at Kalkilieh injured eighteen Jews.
