(From Our Own Correspondent.) COLYTOX, June 10. A meeting of the local members of tlie Feilding i’umket Society was held at the home -of Airs X. Pearce. The drawingroom was charmingly decorated with how is of autumn leaves and berries. The following- ladies were present: Airs MeCorkindale (president of the Feilding branch), Alias Armstrong (l’lunkct nurse), Aiesdames Bruce AleLeod, H. Buchanan, J. Shortall, J. X. Shortall. and \V. AV. Shortall. A number of apologies for absence were rettd. The meeting had been called for the purpose of nominating candidates from Coiyton for the forthcoming I’lunkct carnival, and, after a full discussion, it was decided to nominate Both Shortall anu Kevin Pearce as the (,'olyton baby representatives. A general meeting is to be held, when a programme for the campaign, which is to occupy two months, will be drawn up. The monthly meeting of tho School Committee was held on Tuesday, Alesers J. Crook (chairman), H. B. Woodman (secretary), P. Mitchell, L. Jensen, and C. 0. Allerby being present. It was reported that the contractor had finished felling tho trees in the ground and sufficient firewood had been secured to meet the wants of the school for some time. A suitable date was discussed to hold the children’s fancy dress ball and it was decided to hold it early in August, prior to the term holidays. The friends of Mr Noel Shortall will bo pleased to learn that he has sufficiently recovered from his recent severe illness to return to his home, “Glenbourno.” Mr Keith Viles, “Alcadowbrook,” returned on Saturday from a holiday spent in Rotorua and the north. Mr \V. 0. Caldwell and Mr C. Martin, of Aratika, have returned from a visit to Auckland. Airs Alclntoeh, of Ohingaiti, -who has been the guest of Mrs A. Bowles, of Ridge Road, returned homo during the week-end.
