BIG DAY APPROACHES.
WINTER SHOW OPENING. By this time next week the National Daiiy Show, witn its round of pleasures, will be in full swing. Patrons have heard so much of the attractions pronusod tor the six-day fixture that they are eagerly awaiting the opening day on Wednesday next There is expected to be a big influx of visitors to the city for the exhibition which will bo the most, comprehensive’ over staged by tho Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Assoc ation. the amusement area will be excepiiona.lv large and there will bo a very full programme Of outd.or actvitics, ranging from wood chop; .g to trotting. the motor gymkhana, at which the famous Ilell-Drivers will make an appearance, should be outstanding; bcoota floats will provide the latest thrills on a special mrM and free vaudeville sessions have been arranged. There will be a stand of wood-working machinery m operation, and toys are to be sold a.- they are made. From the points of view of instruct,i<n and amusement, the Show offers an amazing diversity. “Something new has been tho motive map-ring the A and P Association, with the rou.t. that the Winter Show will have a remarkable number of novelty features.
