PAHIATUA, May 30. At a meeting 01 the executive committee of the liusli Union Hockey Association held at Manilla, Mr Gavanagh presided. It ivas decided that endeavours be made to arrange an inteiprovincial tour early in July. MrCaianagh reported on the annual meeting of 'the New Zealand Association and was accorded a vote of thanks. It was decided, regarding the combined Akitio-Bush game against the Fijian ladies’ team, to notify Akitio that as nothing definite had been allocated yet the association could not do anything until such time as a reply was received from the New Zealand Ladies’ Hockey Association. Recently the members of the Falnatua Volunteer Fire Brigade entertained the members of the Pahiatua Silver Band at a social evening, held in the brigade’s rooms, the gathering taking the form of a euchre tournament and resulting in a win for the brigadesmen by 34 points to IS. Mrs 11. E. Beales is visiting Auckland. Mrs Lancaster, of Whakarongo, is visiting Pahiatua as the guest of her mother, Mrs Munns. Messrs V. and It. L. Dariev proceeded to Auckland on Friday night-to visit their father, Mr E. L. Harley, of Itcmuera, whose health is causing his family anxiety. Miss P. Paget is making good progress after her recent operation. Misses H. Ross, I). Junker and Enid Taylor have returned from a holiday at V anganui. Mrs D. O’Rourke, of Wakeman Street, ib an inmate of the Pahiatua Hospital. Mrs W. Fulton, of Kohinui, who has been on an extended visit to Sydney, has returned home. Mrs L. Fisher, of Seatoun, Wellington, has returned to her home after spending a fortnight with Mr and Mrs R. Cavanagh, of Hamua.
