A different story was told in the last series of county cricket matches from the previous games, the bowlers having quite remarkable success. A'erity (Yorkshire) took nine wickets for 12 runs off 6.5 overs. He secured five wickets in twelve balls. He also took 6 for 26. . Barber compiled 15S for Yorkshire. Geary, Leicester’s fast-medium trundler, also struck form against Warwick, capturing 6 for 36 and 7 for 7. Gimblett against struck form and made 106 for Somerset. He made his century before lunch against Northants, including six 6’s. The Daily Mail expresses the opinion that he is playing himself into the Test team. lddon again came to light for Lancashire, compiling 136. Harris, the young all-rounder, was unbeaten for 103 tor Notts. Townsend, the Derby all-rounder, made 182, not out, against Sussex. Details tire as follow: Kent v.
