LINER QUEEN MARY.
THE ROYAL VISIT,
(British Official AVireless.) RUGBY, Alay 25. After a tour of inspection of the liner Queen Alary, lasting three and a-half hours, the King returned this afternoon from Southampton to Fort Belvedere by air. His Majesty also went by air this morning, and, before landing at Eastleigh, his aeroplane circled over the docks so that the King could obtain a view of the great liner from above.
Queen Alary, accompanied by the Duke and Duchess of \ork, the Duke and Duchess of Kent, the Duchess of Gloucester and Princes; Elizabeth, travelled by special train and, on ariival at tlie' dockside, was met met by the King. One of the first things they saw in the foyer was Queen Mary’s own personal standard with the inscription, “A gilt from Her Alajesty to the ship which bears her name,” Luncheon and tea were taken on board. The other members of the party remained for an hour after the departure of (he King, and subsequently returned to London by the special train. The- -100 workmen who are putting the finishing touches to the liner’s decorations before she sails on Wednesday were given a holiday today. The hundreds of ton? of express cargo which the Queen Alary will carry across the Atlantic include many personal gifts from British senders to friends in the United States inscribed with particulars of the historic voyage.
