FRENCH WARSHIP
VISIT TO DOMINION. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, May 2G. With a new company of officers and men since her visit three years ago. the French warsloop Savorgnan De Brazza entered the harbour from Noumea this morning firing 21 guns, which was answered by the battery on the North Head, and later exchanging salutes with the Philomel, the flagship of Commodore the Hon. E. 11. Drummond. Official calls were made later by Captain De Fregat L. Robert. 'Tomorrow he will be the guest of the Government, represented by- the Defence Minister (Hon. F. Jones) at a luncheon, and the guest of the French Consul (M. Joubert). The officers and crew, having heard from their comrades of the charms and hospitality of New Zealand, are keenly anticipating a pleasurable visit.
