APITI WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.
AJrs C. AI. Stanley was in the chair at a meeting *of the Apiti Women’s Institute committee. Sympathy was expressed with ; Aim L. S. Gould, a member who is in ' hospital, and a letter is to be sent wishing her a speedy recovery. The treasurer (Mrs I Garland) reported on tho financial success of tho recent, dance, which will enable the institute to send a delegate to the conference in Dunedin. Mrs J. Jensen and Miss Strahan were thanked for making floral posies for the several members who have recently loft Apiti. It was decided to enter a humorous entry in the Apiti jubilee procession. Next month, , Airs E. E. Short (Cheltenham) will demonstrate upholstery work. Tho competitions will be for the best jam tarts (puff pastry), best laundered embroidered tray cloth and jam jar of berries and leaves arranged for effect. The hostesses will be Airs W. T. Pratt, Alisses 1 Pettigrew, Strahan and Stanley.
