LONDON NAVAL PACT.

UNITED STATES APPROVAL. WASHINGTON, May .16. The Senate Naval Affairs Committee to-day favourably reported on tho London Treaty, and the chairman (Senator Pittman) announced that it would bo placed before the House oil Monday, with every assurance that it would bo passed without opposition. Mr Norman Davis and Admiral Standley, the principal witnesses before the committee, both testified that there was nothing in the treaty inimical to American interests. They admitted, however, that it was not what they had hoped for, as it does not provide for quantitative limit ation.
