PANIC IN CABARET.
FOUR DEATHS IN FIRE. SAN FRANCISCO, May 13. A hat check girl and three other persons were killed early this morning m a panic following a fire in a cabaret. An entertainer was performing a dance with a burning torch in each hand when an olooker attempted to light a cigarette from one of them. The dancer jerked it away and, in doing so, ignited the papier mache decorations. In a moment the room was enveloped in flames. The four persons were crushed to death in the rush for the exit, and nine others were injured.
