MOTOR TAXATION.
SOUTH ISLAND CONCERN. Bor Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH. Hay 14. Apprehension at the proposal of the .Minister of Transport (Hon. R. Semple) to group under one tax. preferably the petrol tax, all motor taxation was expressed at a meeting of the executive of the South Island Motor Union to-riiglit. The executive instructed the secretary to write to the'Minister asking for a detailed statement of bis proposals, to set up a committee to consider his answer, and, il necessary, to call a special meeting of the executive.. The Minister's proposals to extend the speed limits on roads were generally approved.
