Cu Wednesday afternoon at the Shannon golf links the local players met a team from the Aero Club (Palmerston North). The local ladies won 4 games to 2 and the men 4 to 3, with the fourball games being all square. Results, Shannon mentioned first: Mrs Cronquest beat Mrs Haneox, Mrs McDonald beat Mrs Walker, Mrs Graham lost to Miss Harwood, Miss N. Easton beat . Miss Gaustad, Miss G. Morgan beat Miss lDggins, Mrs J. Hennessey lost to Miss G. Higgins, Macedo beat Godfrey, Morgan lost to McAvoy, Moody lost to Stallard, Ostler lost to Palmer, Collins halved with Robson, Brann beat Bennett, Clayton beat Richards, Grey beat Low. Four-ball : Macedo and Morgan lost to Godfrey and McAvoy, Moody and Ostler lost to Stallard :>id Palmer, Collins and Brann teat Robson and Bennett, Clayton and Grey beat Richards ;iid Low. On Monday evening representatives from tlio Borough Council met the representatives from the Shannon School Committee to discuss matters pertain ng to the proposed swimming baths at the, school. Itwas pointed out that the local swimming baths committee had £l9 in hand which had been collected towards the suggested baths in the Domain. Considering that to teach the school children to swim was most important, the meeting agreed to hand over the control to the School Committee, together with all moneys in hand. ! There were good attendances at the opening days of both the Woinm's Institute and Croquet Club afternoon card parties and the winners this week were :
