The winners of the ladies’ prizes were Mrs Matheson 1 and Mrs Hover 2: men’s, Mr V. Rankin 1, Air I. Howland 2. . Rowland presided over a good attendance. Business was discussed and a report of the half-yearly council meeting held at Palmerston North was road. Mrs F. Vautier, who is leaving the district shortly, was presented with a small token as a mark of esteem. An interesting demonstration on the making of wreaths, posies ami shoulder sprays was kindly given by Mrs Galland, of Palmerston North. Some pretty finished work was greatly admired. Airs Galland kindly judged a large number of plate gardens, of which some excellent entries wore staged. The winners were Aliss D. Bannister 1, Airs X. P. Nielsen 2, and Airs Croucher 3. The roll-call for the reciting of the “Ode to Friendship” did not bring forth many fines. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Alosdamcs James, Lover and B. Morloy. Mrs Richardson and _ her daughter are visiting friends at Pahiatua. Aliss Lorna Richardson is staying with her grandmother, Airs McCulloch. Palmerston North. Mrs Bindon, of Palmerston North, is visiting her parents, Air and Mrs N. P. Nielsen. Aliss ,J. Alorloy has returned home after a visit to relatives at Shannon. Airs AJathcson lias returned to tile South Island. Aliss B. Miller, of Palmerston North, spent the week-end with Air and Airs E. P. Nielsen. Aliss Voss is visiting her sister, Mrs McDonald, of Jolmsonvillo. Mr B. Rogers, who met with an accident to his log, has now recovered.
