TO-MORROW’S FIXTURES.

FIELDS AT MARTON. (By “Spectator.”) Apart from the disappointing field of throo in the Open Hurdles, acceptances for the Marton meeting to-morrow are excellent and some fine racing should be witnessed. Tho first race is due to start at 11.45, and betting will be on tho win and placo system. A review of the form of the acceptors is given below. 11.45 —- OPEN HURDLES HANDICAP, of £llO. One mile and a half. Brigadore 10 10 Royal King 9 7 Kaola 9 13 Brigadore reads well in the Open Hurdles Handicap. He was running all over Contact at the finish of the first hurdle at Hawera, but just failed to get up. Royal King had a race at Woodville amongst tho platers, but did not show up. Kaola is a good sort, but may not be ready. The favourite will be: Brigadore. 12.25 TRIAL PLATE, of £7O. Six furlongs. Brioni 8 7 People’s Idol 8 7 Garter Red 8 7 Ruenzori 8 7 Hunting Lad 8 7 Star Flier 8 7 Lucullus Lad 8 7 Trevclyn Hold 8 7 Princess La Trimdcn 8 7 Jean 8 7 Garter Red will carry strong support in view of his forward running at Woodville where Night Spi and Golden Ridge finished in front of him in the Rakaiat&i Plate. Trimdcn ran third in a similar class on the second day at Woodville, while 1 revelyn Hold has threatened to win a race for some time. Star Flier, if he leaves the mark with the others, may be prominent. Backers will no doubt prefer the chances of: Garter Red, Trimdcn, Trevclyn Hold. I.lft* LADIES’ NECKLACE, of £SO and trophy Nine furlongs. Clarion Call 12 2 Vivienne H 0 Prince Reno 11 5 Cometra 11 0 Taillight 11 4 Daivet H 0 Miss Pango 11 2 Vane U u Clarion Call has a big burden, but with the minimum 11.0 ho is not badly treated, and on top of his recent form ho should give his supporters a good run. Of the Awapuni-trained quartet entered (Prince Reno, Taillight, Miss Pango, and Cometra) Taillight and Cometra may do best, ihe order of favouritism may bo: Clarion Call, Taillight, Cometra. 1.50 — WINTER, STAKES, of £IOO. Seven furlongs. Diatomous 9 2 Ethiop 7 13 Slippery 8 6 Lapel 7 Peter Jackson 8 5 Jubilee Song 712 Farmer 8 4 Gay Boy 7 11 Mother Hunting Lodge 7 5 Superior 8 4 Miss llushabye 7 5 Land Tax 8 0 A strong field will contest the Winter Stakes, but a number have been off the scene for some time and will require a race to sharpen them up. Diatomous has been in winning form recently, while Slippery showed at Hawera last Saturday that he is not yet a spent force, and with winter conditions to suit him he should be handy at the finish. Peter Jackson is improving with every race, but the distance may not be far enough for him. Farmer does not appeal just yet, and Mother Superior may need sharpening up. Land Tax and Ethiop have been out of tho money for some time, although tho latter had a fairly good run earlier in the year. Lapel should run well on the strength of his second to Prostration at Hawera. Jubilee Song was third to Limulus and Rust on the first day at Feilding, but ran unplaced on the second. Gay Boy will command strong support and Hunting Lodge has only to repeat her track work to have a chance. Tho going should suit Miss Hushabyc. Recent form points to tho favourite coming from: Lapel, Gay Boy, Slippery. 2,35 HACK STEEPLECHASE, of £l2O. Two miles and a quarter. Manawatu 10 10 Croydon 9 0 Dozio 10 5 Indefinite J 0 Gaswyn 9 10 lllawara 9 Battle Ground 9 5 Sir Ronald 9 U Taura Lad 9 0 Tangle 9 Manawatu has had a few rousing gallops at Awapuni, but the chances are' that he will be in need of a race. Dozio has been training well at Green meadows and last year’s Napier Steeplechase winner should be showing up at the end. Gaswyn and Taura Lad have had the benefit of recent racing, and Sir Ronald looks the best of tho remainder. Good support will be forthcoming for: Gaswyn, Dozic, Taura Lad. 3.20 CROFTON HACK CUP, of £l2O. Ono mile and a quarter. Chile 9 3 Reipar 7 13 Donegal 8 11 Otaki 7 7 Hunting Queen 8 6 Corowa 7 7 Waipiro 8 4 Trevclyn Hold 7 7 Chile has been off the scene since the Feilding meeting when he was third to Alchemic and Donegal in the Oroua Hack Cup. Donegal ran a first and second at Feilding, while Hunting Queen’s befit effort recently was at Hawera where she won the Hack Cup and was third to Boomerang and Leo Colossus in the T. arawhiti Hack. Waipiro has not raced up to what she promised at the Awapuni autumn meeting. Otaki appeals most of the 7.7 lot. When the totalieator closes the best backed may be: Hunting Queen, Chile, Donegal.

4.0 FAREWELL HACK HANDICAP, of £7O. Five furlongs. Mata Hari 9 0 Midacre 7 3 Do Trop 8 7 Vivienne 7 0 Happy Hunting 7 11 Lady Briar 7 0 Sir Tommy 7 11 Princess La Joviality 7 9 Jean 7 0 Middle 7 5 Star Flier 7 0 Mata Hari should run out a smart five furlongs, while De Trop proved his worth at Hawera with a first and second. Happy Hunting is in good order and her chances depend on the state of tho track, as she is not partial to a greasy turf. Sir Tommy was a well-backed Aucklander who missed at Hawera, but over five furlongs ho should bo seen to advantage. Joviality did not race up to expectations at Hawera, but tho track was bad. Midacre has a chance with 7.3. Tho public selections may be: Mata Hari, De Trop, Sir Tommy.
