LABOUR LEGISLATION.
“HARDLY STARTED YET.” Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 14. “I have hardly started yet,” said the Minister of Labour (Hon. 11. T. Armstrong) when asked to-night whether he had any more important labour legislation to bring down this session. The Minister said that his next important measure would be tho Workers’ Compensation Bill, on which the law draftsman was at present engaged. This, he said, would be more talked about than any measure he had yet introduced. While noncommittal about the provisions of the Bill, Mr Armstrong indicated that it would contain far-reaching amendments to the existing legislation. It might not be ready for presentation to the House of Representatives before the prospective mid-winter recess.
