At the monthly meeting of the Board of Directors of the Palmerston North Y.M.C.A., -Ur It. C. Donald presided. Also present were Messrs J. A. Grant, L G. Plimmer, A. Clark, E. W. Child, T. C. Cunningham, G. Griggs, G. C. Petersen and the general secretary. Apologies for absence were tendered on behalf of Messrs T. R. Hodder, J. C. Young and \V. H. Brown. In his report, the general secretary stated that the winter season had commenced with a good enrolment in all classes. It was also reported that in tlie interhouse basketball competition there would be 16 teams competing. The social committee reported that two successful dances had been held, and that the committee had in hand similar functions in the near future. The committee had set as an objective l for the year the purchase of a new piano from funds raised through tlie social activities. Arrangements were made for regu-. lar monthly parades to the various churches by members of the association. Jin reporting on the activities now organised within the association’s building, the general secretary stated that the association was frequently handicapped for want of more space, and that in some cases certain activities had to be aljandoned in favour of the urgency of more room required for boys’ work. The report stated that the various clubs under voluntary leadership were functioning well. The boys’ work report showed an enrolment of 106 boys. A successful camp for loaders in 'the boys’ department had been held at Camp Pohangina over the Easter holidays. A party of 20 boys from the Wellington Association would be visiting the local association on 1' riday j when Rugby, soccer, basketball and m- | door athletics would be held.
