The Academic Assistance Council, which was formed in Alay, 11)33, to assist scholars and scientists who on grounds of religion, race, or opinion were unable to continue their work in their own country, has decided to establish asits permanent successor a Society tor the Protection of Science and Learning. At Bad Blankenberg, the Thuringian health resort, the foundation-stone was laid recently of a “Silentarium,” a house specially constructed of materials to exclude noise.
